I ask myself why I'm doing it but I have a good plan :dogpile:

The car started life as an R33 Skyline GtS25T Type M Active LSD Spec, one of the rarer version around :attention: Bought it bog standard from USS Tokyo auctions.

Anyway, after 3 and a bit years I may as well mess about with it.

Spec so far:

Engine Specifications:
  • RB25DET
  • Samco Hose Kit
  • Nismo 1.3 bar rad cap
  • 265bhp @ 0.7bar
Turbocharger & Induction:
  • Standard Turbocharger
  • ARC Super Induction Box
  • Blitz SS Dual drive BOV including cold pipe
Fuel & Tuning:
  • Greddy Profec A boost controler
Exhaust:
  • Stock for now
Drivetrain:
  • Active LSD
  • RPS Extreme Organic Clutch
Weight reduction & transfer:
  • Removed back seats
  • Removed all contents from the boot
  • Removed all trimmings from the rear of the car
  • Weighs 1379kg with fluids
Suspension, wheels & tires:
  • Nismo G Attack S Tune
  • Nismo Front Upper Strut Brace
  • Nismo Rear Lower Arms
  • Nismo Front lower transverse arms
  • Nismo Rear upper arms
  • Cusco Tie Rod Brace
  • ARC Adjustable Pillowbal castor arms
  • Yokohama 17" rims
  • Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD-3 Tyres 245/40/17 all round
Brakes:
  • Endless SSS pads front and rear
Interior:
  • Cobra Monaco S seats
  • Sparco 4 point harnesses
  • Nismo EGT/Boost Gauge
  • Nismo Oil Pressure Gauge
  • Apexi water temp gauge
  • Apexi oil temp gauge
  • Apexi 450bhp Power meter
Exterior:
  • Stock Nissan Aero kit
  • Nismo Clear Side Repeaters

The Plan:

To make it the ultimate handling R33 GtS-T :boogy: I seem to be different from others in respect to tuning in the way power doesn't interest me but getting as much grip as I can does :screwy:

The Theory:

Seam weld the whole chassis, replace the subframe mounts with solid metal ones, change all arms to fully adjustable ones, fabricate braces that haven't been made yet, insert cage and make the undertray as flat as possible. In the power dept I'm thinking a hike to 350bhp will be more than enough so it will be a slightly bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, exhaust, AVCR, SAFC II and fuel pump

So it started 15th October, started to take the car to bits to get the chassis prepped for seam welding

Before pics

First to come off were the front and rear bumpers

Then sideskirts and front wings

Chassis legs are in really good nick :)

Took bits of the front and rear suspension apart to clean them and check the general condition of the Nismo's, all is well

Finally so far, I took parts of the engine to bits round the turbo, fun stuff it was :screwy:

The turbo has bit of back and forth play as well as up and down so it's a bit fecked lol and has oil coming from soewhere :screwy:

Then decided to take the rocker cover off for a gander around

Some scoring on the lobes

Thats where Im at so far......

Progress today, not much but I took the wing mount intercooler off. Came off fairly easy apart from 1 seized nut which was promptly sheard off to get it out :dogpile: Also taking off the Greddy Profec-A EBC so it will be up for sale shortly

I'm starting to get a good picture of what I'm going for and if a part look likes I hope it does in the daylight tomorrow there could be another addition to the list......

if you cant feel the lines on the cam lobes with your fingernail it hasnt gone through the toughriding and should be ok
the oil around the trbo inlet is quite possibly from the rebreather system,my wing mount was black inside when i too it off

this is shaping up to be an awesome build with some great attention to detail!

After much humming and haaing I think I know how the suspension will be turning out. Spec just now:

Nismo G Attack S Tune
Nismo Front Upper Strut Brace
Nismo Rear Lower Arms
Nismo Front lower transverse arms
Nismo Rear upper arms
Cusco Castor Rod Brace
ARC Adjustable Pillowbal castor arms

Parts to add/change:

Cusco front adjustable negative upper A arms
Whiteline anti roll bar front with droplinks
Cusco adjustable rear upper arms (this frees up the Nismo ones to go to another home)
Nismo Traction arms
Whiteline rear anti roll bar with droplinks
Nismo rear upper strut brace
Custom GNF boot braces and under braces
Custom GNF rear arm support bars

The only thing that sort of bothers me about this setup is the horrid state of the roads :cya: and the bone shattering stiffness the car will be. On track it looks like the ideal setup. Toyed with the idea of changing the spring rate a bit up the way, just worried it wont match the damping force of the shocks. More to think about by the looks of it..

A wee update:

Decided to get the dash out to do a spot of gauge rewiring :) it's like a maze behind there :screwy:

Nismo y0ness

Also got the first part of the suspension mods. Cusco negative upper A arms. Before any one says there black and not blue they were painted to get it through an MOT test in Japan :dogpile::dogpile: Gonna respray them once I get them

Arms were adjusted to -1.5 degrees but whether its sitting at that we will need to wait and see till allignment.

Also purchased an Apexi SAFC :boogy: things are starting to take shape.....

Some more weight reduction, all the sound deadning is coming out :boogy:

Starts with something like this:

After battering it with a soft mallet and flat screwdriver it starts to look like this

Took some pics of the dash while I was at it

From afar, looks in a bit of a sorry state :shakehead::shakehead:

Coming after christmas - SAFC, Project Mu SCR front rotors and Project Mu 500i pads front and rear :):):)
