going topmount

hi ppl, im going topmount on my r33 rb25det, can you give me some ideas on how you pppl have to the pipework for the fmic, pics would be great or even better if theres a kit i can buy ready

very nice but i will be using the stock inlet manifold ect, i was just wondering how ppl got on with the stock hard pipe that goes over the top of the engine with the bov ect

Can't say I've ever seen a top mount set up that didn't have the low entry plenum.
well if doest work that way then i can do the normal set up...it will be alot easier having the normal setup ect so i dnt need to fab up downpipes and that

Its because you cant make a pipe to bypass the turbo and goto the standard plenum that will have any use, had that issue when i was going to fit a big turbo to mine and top mount.
so to go top mount im going to have to go with a gtr style inlet manifold :(
No. I've seen topmounts with standard plenum fitted, Just had a custom pipe accross the cam covers diagonally to avoid the turbo.

well thats helped me alot, im glad uve shown me that as i wanted to keep it top mount...external wastegate ect. I thought the only hard bit will be getting the downpipe to the turbo...unless some know of something for that difficulty

anyone got any pics of the turbo to down pipe...how they've go round it? Im thinking new down pipe from the de-cat and then fab a bit more pipe to go from the downpipe flange to the rear of the turbo as im having an external wastegate.
any ideas then throw them my way...pros...cons...whatever

Making an Elbow/downpipe should be easy for anyone with the right tools to make. I wouldn't wory about that. Depending on what manifold you go for and where the turbo ends up sitting you'll probably get away with just having to make an elbow

Plasmaman Plenums look the biz.... :drool:
ive just finished a topmount conversion on mine and i just cut the stock inlet pipe to make it sit more to the left and avoid my compressor housing and then used 90degree silicon bends to make the intercooler pipework from the standard holes where the pipe enters the engine to the new turbo, wasnt as diffficult as i was expecting it to be :D
