Gts idle problems

my 1996 gtst won't idle. it will not stay running without me putting pressure on the gas pedal.
ive tried claning the idle air controll valve and adjusting up the idle speed on it. allso checked for vacum leaks. when i disconect the throttle position sensor the car will idle but the rev will drop from 1000rpm down to about 200rpm every 2-3 seconds.

i have no problem reving it with the tps connected, it just wont idle. it dies after a couple of seconds.

anybody got som ideas about this?

What air filter are you using? Do you still have the stock AFM on your car? Stock ecu? Did you check for ecu errors yet? I've also heard a bad CAS will let your car idle funky and die. What voltages are you getting on your gauges?
Have you set the TPS to the required voltage with throttle closed?

Im using a cone filter. I got the stock AMF and ECU.
I,ve not checked for ecu errors yet.
Is there a easy way to check the CAS?

I can add that when the TPS i disabled i hear the fuelpump start at 2-300rps and the car idles up. But when its connected i hear the pump stop and the car just dies.

No, where do i do that?
sorry for hijack , thanks tricky will check mine as that seems to have a mind of its own sometimes , not rough idling but just increases ( @ 1500 ) when sat still also thought was air leaks but nothing showed up yet

also on intial cold start goes to 1800 - 2000 which I can only guess is the choke

Have you checked the cold start valve/ choke.
quick update. ended up with first cleaning the amf, that didn't help much.
and then turning the TPS which solved it :) exept that it runs a bit high now, but that aint a problem because racecar;)
did the same to my mates car and it became the solution there to :)
