Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me how to remove the handbrake handle? I got a new cover because my leather one is showing its age. I was going to go down the road of pulling and pulling at it until it came off but I decided to check if anyone has taken theirs off instead.

Any help?

In the past ive done the follwoing -

if its a direct replacement (genuine skyline handbrake handle) cut the old handle with a stanley knife to split it open and fit slide your new handle onto the metal handrake frame
-
or if its a non geniune skyline handle trim the existing handle down and fit the new cover over the old trimmed handle so you have a nice tight fit.
-
If its only a cover bud I wouldnt remove the entire handbrake handle as its never guranteed to fit perfectly on the handbrake metal frame and it might wobble and move - so your handbrake might no engage or dis-engage correctly.

Thanks Lee.

Its a momo cover I'm putting over it so I'll trim it back and see how it goes.

got the leather and the new handles fitted.

The Momo handle I got was big enough to fit over the old handbrake handle. The handle did need a little filing down to get the new handle over it.
