Somedays I should really remember that I have the mechanical aptitude of a St. Bernard.

When I originally spec'd the car, I went with the 'retain cat to help low end torque' theory. No one actually called me a plonker, but I did notice the silence. :)

The car in it's original catted spec gave 330bhp + 297 ft/lb at 1.2 bar.

Yesterday, in it's decatted form with the replacement turbos it delivered 358bhp + 309 ft/lb at 1.2 bar. (For the completists, it gave 327bhp + 274 ft/lb at 1 bar).

Tony reckons the brand new turbos account for about 10 horse, the rest is down to decat. And the response is better.

I think I can live with being proved wrong.

Aaaaaaaaaand...

I have my Skyline back. YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

If you had read Sarky's superb missive about exhaust theory you should have been able to work out that with a Turbo car back pressure is a NO No. Back pressure only works with NA engines.
