just out of curiosity, does anyone on here have a 400r? or know of someone with one? i know they are rare as but surely someone somewhere must have one? feel free to post 400r porn
and second question, did they make an r34 version???
Never seen one in the flesh. 400R was R33 only; there was the R34 Z-Tune which I guess you could say was the replacement for the 400R (but wasn't; Z-Tune took 20 or so used R34s and seriously modified them, rather than the 400R which were built 'new'):
Yes z tune were used cars and stripped back to chassis including front wings and hand built back up from scratch. Almost every part every part used had been proven on the race track. even has a completly differant suspension set up.
the 400r would definately be the lotto buy i think, in red, oooooohhh yes, i'd love to hear from someone that owns one, difference in the ride, although with how many r33 gtrs are modded these days, there might not be that much difference anymore??
There are no genuine 400R's in this country treasach, the pic you posted of the blue one came over about 6 years ago, was up for about 36k if memory serves me right but never sold so went back to Japan.
A special edition R33 was released on November 3, 1997 called the 400R, with R standing for Racing. Developed by Nismo, it featured an overbored RB26DETT engine, the RBX-GT2, with polished ports, an upgraded exhaust, composite parts, a twin-plate clutch, and a more free flowing turbo and intercooler system. Nismo brake pads were fitted to the car, and aerodynamic updates were also added, such as wider fenders, side skirts, a new rear bumper, a new front bumper with bigger air scoops, and a redesigned bonnet and rear spoiler made of carbon fiber. The 400R was also fitted with 18x10 Nismo LM-GT1s. The car developed 400 horsepower (300 kW) and 347 lb·ft (470 N·m), which allowed a top speed of over 186 mph (300 km/h), and enabled it to reach 0–97 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Nismo had originally planned to produce 100 units of the 400R, however only 44 units were ever made due to the closure of the production line for the R33 in 1998
only 44 made!!! my god, and not one in the uk, think i'm going to have to pull my finger out on the lottery win and get one shipped over here!! i wish oh i wish!!!!!
