Title says it all!

All is fine on side lights but when I turn on dipped beam they just go straight onto main beam!

I have pulled the relay under the bonnet near the battery that is marked headlights and that seemed to do nothing!

Any ideas?

Short circuit/broken switch, poor earth, melted relay in fuse box, wiring problem around the light cluster somewhere...thats where I would be starting and would look to see if a wiring diagram was available to upload from somewhere to get wiring colours..

The stalk does nothing now, when I first picked the car up it was fine a few months back. Will go have another look.

I presume you mean the fuse box just under the ignition??

worth a try mate :rofl:

remove stalk from car and pull the thing apart mate and you will understand it when you see it as the grease hardens and metal fillings join the terminals together simple clean and rebuild mate

Well that was easy, not so easy on the wallet tho LOL

Looks like the knuckle type joint that connects the stalk to the switch gear was broken, have to find a good S/H stalk, managed to get the lights off main bean tho !
