See that massive rattling and banging on the first start up mate that in my experience is the big end bearings but without standing in front I can't garuntee it however the more you start it the more damage you will do

I'm worries about paying out for stuff I don't need and I will admit I've no idea about the engine, as never had any problems with it before or any other engine

ooof you weren't kiddding - that sounds pretty hefty but i have heard noisy lifters sound like that in the past - my own in fact on my last engine. I changed the oil and it was fine.

another thing to check is your timing too just to be safe

i remember having to take my own cylinder head off and infact finding i had two bent inlet valves... however i'm not saying this is the issue here.

i think something can be done with the lifters but i cant remember i'm afraid - someone like speedreeper would be able to diagnose this i'll pm him and send him the link to this thread..
this ... try a fully synth 15w50 its quick and cheap and a last ditch before stripping it

The bid knocking is now only on first start up for about a second as you here on the video, once I turn the car off and re start the big knock is not there but the tapping still is and when you rev the engine the tapping gos with the revs,
