:attention: Ok, so I got my idle problem sorted with a second hand O2 meter. I've bought Greddy Profec B - spec II boost controller, now fitted along with new plugs and Walbro fuel pump, which should be all great, except;

Dyno plot shows everything fine up to about 3800rpm, then, it just dies off up to around 5200, then picks up again to about 7000 then what sounds like a backfire as it changes gear.

We have tried a few things, e.g Variable Cam Timer solenoid, but makes no difference, we are now at the stage where it is a process of elimination (which sound pricey!).

Can anyone give me any ideas? Anyone had similar experience and what did you do?

:feedback:

:cheers:

or it may just be over fueling as this will happen when you start to tune without fitting a fuel computer or aftermarket ecu.

Thanks Ian, so is there any way of checking (before it costs me!) whether it is over-fueling or coil packs? Would it smell 'rich', i.e. I'd get smell petrol, or does over-fueling sound a certain way?

Any way I can I tell if it's coilpacks or over-fueling, anyone?

put a multimeter over two of the contacts of the coilpack and if you get 0.9+ volts then there screwed (should be more like 0.6v)......i had this with mine and got some from OILMAN on this forum for a very good 299

there is a post somewere on here about how to check them or serch back through my post as ive mentioned it sometime ago but since forgot lol.
