Hi there :wave: ,

I'm new to pretty much the entire cyberchat world. Just bought my first sports car. A 40th Anniversary 1998 Skyline R33 GTS-t imported from Japan and I absolutely love it. She's Black and very very beautiful. The only modifications are the Momo pedals and a Turbo timer. And I'm very tempted to leave it that way.
Tried to do some research on the 40th Anniversary model, but recently discovered that unless you're looking for porn, there's not that much on the net. I'm still trying to find out the difference between regular R33's and the 40th Anniversary model, so if anyone has any input, it would be much appreciated. I've never been much of a car buff...until my Skyline found me. Now it's all I dream about.

btw...do other ppl give their cars names, or is it just me????:werd:

Welcome to the forums dude. Not sure what the specs on your specific model is or what sets it apart from the rest... I am sure that someone will tell you though. Very knowledgable people here.

also - you will find that once the car-bug has bitten .. it is REALLY hard if not impossible to get rid of it :) Have fun!

Welcome mx, there's an old thread that's been resurrected on the 40th annivesary model, look in the general section "is this the rarest skyline". Then go and invite your bank manager to tea, you'll need him as a friend now that you've caught the bug :cuddle:

I'm back

I'm absolutely amazed by everyone's responses. I apologise for not getting back sooner. I've spent the last week looking for every excuse to drive so haven't been on my pc. I've named my baby "Skye" . I've been trying to borrow my bro's camera to take some pics and promise I'll get some up soon. I LOVE DRIVING HER. Went to the video store on sunday, which is about 10mins walk from my house. Came back 3hrs and a qtr tank later. Not quite sure of all the differences on the 40th Anniversary model, but from what I've seen and heard there's some engine components that are the same as an R34. I've never been into cars before, so this is a new experience for me. I'm yet to look under the hood to find the oil measuring thing. I'll update as soon as I get some more info.
Everything in her is genuine nissan components. No mods at all. Everyone keeps suggesting customisations and modifications but I'm kinda inclined to leave her just the way she is. She beautiful just the way she is. Anyhoo...time for a drive. God bless Nissan.:funny:

Wow, that is one clean car. With a car like that I would be inclined to keep it like it is. If you start modding it, it becomes another modified R33, nothing wrong with that in itself, but with something unusual like yours I think you'd be better off keeping it original.

i can only find this info on the 40th from wiki

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, Nissan introduced a very rare 4 door GT-R. Two versions of the 4-door GT-R were available from Nissan's subsidiaries: the first was produced by Autech, and the second was a joint Autech/Nismo project
you sure yours isn't a 4 door? lol

Later models of the Series 2 also had the option of having a Active-LSD fitted. The R33 ceased production in March 1998 with the 40th Anniversary R33 Series 2.
no specific info as to what addtional extras there were on the 4th edition

welcome mate is it just the way the photo was taken or is that a white plate you have on the back of it if its white it should be yellow so change it before you get grief from the old bill mate or is it just my old eyes playing up on me again lol
