Basically i went to work the other day and the car was runnin fine, it was a bit cold & rainy throughout the whole day....

I started my R33 GTS up after i finished work and it jumped straight to 2000rpm without even touching the accelerator. I reset the ECU when i got home but it's still doing it? Any ideas what to do??

will it rev freely still? Is it just a high idle or are there other symptoms?

My car did it a few months ago and it was a split vacuum pipe.

Check for a " sucking sound" while engine running in the engine bay.

turn car on, pop bonnet and check the throttle body. it should be fully closed. then cehck for any vacume leaks. after that, u should take out teh idle control valve and clean it. then do an elctronical idle adjustment to roughly where u want it, then fine tune the adjustment mechanically on teh ICV
