(skyline gtst) im hopefully going for a 500-600bhp engine build over winter (my first ever engine build) but i am trying to gather as much information as possible first. what im mainly stuck on is what turbo to go for as there is so many differant ones out there and i dont really understand what the specifications mean on them. i dont want a turbo that is going to have lots of lag but then i dont want one thats going to run out after around 6k, all you ever here people say is strap a massive turbo on but from what i understand this is not exactly a good thing. if anybody can give me information on what things mean it might help me to work it out abit myself for example:
what compressor A/R size is best and how does this control boost
what exhaust A/R size is best and how does this control boost
whats the trim and size mean (example .57)
what causes lag or max boost too early??
are skylines oil and water cooled
whats the best fitment t3 or t4 or are these the same?
do the intake and outlet sizes matter (example 4" inlet 2-3" outlet)
is an internal wastegate or external wastegate best?
sorry for all the questions but you have to start and learn somewhere and turbos are quiet expensive so i would like to get it right first time, maybe if you listed your turbo and engine spec and what pro´s and con´s you have faced with it???
thankyou very much in advance for any advice given, jmaie :drivin:
