[Skyline-Noob]

Hi, everyone ... I was lucky enough to be given a NISSAN SKYLINE 2L AUTOMATIC 200BHP GTS (Non Turbo) for Christmas from my Brother...and despite not being a Turbo...I'am still well happy because its a million times better than my old Peugeot 306...

I have just got insured for £789.00 (Fire n Theft) ...it was a mission to get covered as most companies wanted a years driving (of the R-33) before they will touch me...anyhow Adrian Flux had faith in me and I signed up

I need to get a few things sorted before its drivable ..

*NEW DRIVERS DOOR LOCK + NEW KEYS (The one in place at the moment is pretty much dead and is snapping keys at the mo)

^Anyone know how much I should pay for the lock etc.. best place to go, etc etc.. ??

*The car also has 1X Lambo door (passenger-side) but I want to have it put back to a normal style passenger door..

^Anyone know how much this should set me back...and again the best place to go etc...




These are the main things I need to get sorted along with the wheel tracking & balancing .. before I am ready to A) Drive her and B) Start my project in tidying her up!

Any and all help is both sought and received happily..

As for the parts speak to the breakers in the traders section on the site, I'm sure they'll have all the parts you need for a good price

Hi am welcome a full set of locks with keys including a new ignition barrel should set u back about £100 or so.

i remember that car its been doing the rounds on ebay for a while

seen this one on ebay before too.. cant imagine it being expensive... to sort..

ive seen all 3 locks/barrel and a pair of keys going for around 45 quid.. be careful with breakers some are horrendously expensive and unfairly so. I do not wish to name and shame but search through some threads and you shall seek the awnser

Also a little downer but the 2 litre non turbo is only 130bhp.. but still looks and sounds ace along with driving superbly ( i should know, i drive one )

Welcome to the club. As for Lambo doors I used to have them. You will need to remove your front wing and unbolt the hinges. Then just bolt the originals back on, quite easy.

Hi Matty, Yeah thats the one ...I saw it on E-Bay on Christmas Eve, and was generally talking to my Brother about it...just as summink to talk about... I said 'It would make a perfect starter car in Performance Motors and would be a good project car' I even asked him if he'd lend me the cash for it if the bids stayed low.. and then after several beers I just put it out my mind... I fell asleep and the bid bid finished later that night, I woke up at around 4am and trundled down the stairs to my computer, bleary eyed I logged onto E-Bay and saw that my Skyline had been Won at £1140.00 ...I was a bit annoyed that I had fallen asleep and missed the end of the auction... and that was that..............I thought!

Next Day I went to my parents to open gifts and do all the usual familly stuff, all the presents had been given out and I was thinking about going home and and setting up the fire-place ready to chill for the evening ...When my Brother announced and there's 1 more gift.. He shoock his fist and some random keys jangled about and he was looking at me, I thought perhaps he wanted me to get summink from the boot of his car, THEN! I thought maybe he got me a cheapy run-about perhaps a Fiesta, Escort or Mondao ...As I approached the front door he drove it up to the front of the house...The rumble of the Exhaust! The Big Spoiler, ...........I was in complete dis-belief..

..That pretty much summed up the best Christmas ever!

Hi mate, £45..thats pretty reasonable! Uh..I dunno why I thought it was 200BHP I'll have to double check where I read that.. Yeah it does look good though (and has heaps of potential) The exhaust is pretty loud...I'am thinking of replacing whatever the 3.5" Exhaust is at the moment for a 4 or 5" RAGE Exhaust... (Like I had on my old Pug) I dunno if I might need summink better for the Skyline or whether the Rage back box will be a nice/better addition..??

I'am used to being skint now I'am gonna be mega-skint lol..but so long as my smile is there....thats all that matters lol - Martin.
