1996 is definitely a S2.... not that it makes a difference in this case.
It depends what n/a you're talking about... a GTS (RB20E) is pretty much a poverty pack model but I'm certain some of the higher spec GTS25 (RB25DE) came with an LSD

It's a GTS RB20E. Think mine is S1.5 as it's Jan 96 - Front end is S1 but electrics & high rear spolier from S2 etc ...

Is there any markings on the frame plate to tell?

Damn it must be literally one of the very last S1 R33s ever made!
I think there is something on the Blue tag on the firewall about diffs, but I can't recall exactly what story it tells sorry.
Being a GTS, I can almost guarantee it doesn't have an LSD
To find out, simply jack up the rear end and turn one wheel by hand - if the other side spins the opposite direction you've got an open diff, if it spins the same way you've got an LSD
Hope that helps :)

I would be shocked if the tiny little diff that comes with the RB20e is LSD tbh and if your thinking of upgrading to a GTS25 diff be warned the entire subframe needs to be changed aswell
btw I know old thread but info still relevant ;)

My wife's 2.0 n/a had an open diff from if I remember correctly and my R34 RB25de appears to have the same too for some reason .
