when people upgrade the stock mani to a SS mani, has anybody experianced the SS mani cracking under the weight of the turbo/downpipe etc

I dont see aftermarket SS mani's being braced

On my current car, SS manis crack left right and center due to the weight of the turbo etc despite it being tiny

Are there members who run mild steel manis?

I looked into the quality of these stainless manifolds and unless you get one that is made from 321 stainless steel (includes titanium for better heat resistance) they will crack over time. You can brace them, but over time they will still crack.

I've heard loads of stories from people with lots of different cars. All seem to be the same. SS manifolds tend to crack at some point.

so how come nobody takes heed of this and use a mild steel mani?

on a side note - whats the stock mani made from? - cast iron? how much power can it take?
