After a bit of fun and testing for MeisterR at the RAF Marham Track Day in October 08...
It seems that I have kills the engine and require a new head... :(

From This:

To This:

The GTR was making good power, and everything was spot on before the day at Marham as seen on the Dyno.

So I took it to I.A. Motorsport in Sittingbourne, Kent for Ian to have a look and see what is the problem.
And it looks like the head is warp and need replacing, so we took the opportunity to do some upgrade while we are at it.

We wanted to do something different and see what difference it will make, along with some documentation and dyno.
We decided to get a "New" used head, match port both the inlet and exhaust port, along with taking out the squish pad on both the intake and exhaust side to lower the compression.
New Tomei gasket kit and redo all the valve guide seal on the head. This should improve flow and give us a little extra power.

For the power side, we decided to ditch the OLD T45S turbo that should have stay on the Titanic instead of being use in the modern 21st century.
The T45S was one of the first single turbo that HKS made using off the shelf Garrett DIESEL Turbo parts!!!

The obvious choice of replacement was the Garrett GT4088R, but then there are a few GTR using it already and it just doesn't seem adventurous enough.
Instead, we went for a Forced Performanced 88HTA Turbo because it seems to be do well on the EVOs, and because no one is using it. :D

So off to work we went!!!

Here is the old engine in the bay looking sad. :(

Old Turbo OFF...

... And the Head Off....

You can see that the old head had its squish pad on the intake side removed (not very well), and also retain the exhaust side squish pad.

So we got our "New" Used Head here....

And after some work.... clean, smooth, and shiny. :D

Match ported the intake side...

And added a lick of paint. :)

The new Forced Performanced 88HTA Turbo with its Billet Wheel and Tial Ported Shroud Cover.

New Turbo on the left, Old Turbo on the Right.
You can see the size difference, and the smaller turbo actually flows more!

So now the head is back on the bottom end... torqued down and ready for the turbo.

I hope to get it back running within the next few weeks and bring some dyno numbers up. :)

I couldn't really sell it. I had a VERY good offer for it, then decided to work on MeisterR and therefore kept the car for test and demo.

End of the day, even if I got my asking price, getting something in the same "level" as this R32 will cost alot more.

Got more stuff coming along, will update as things get cleaned up. :)

Yes, I did notice that also... I was going to say something witty about it, then I realize it is my car on the back of that recovery truck so I better not. :D

I love the car with the RAC though.

Me: Please send a Low Loader.
RAC: We will send a engineer out to look at the car first, then we will send the Low Loder.
Me: No need, the car will not move 100%, please send a Low Loader.
RAC: But we have to send an engineer to look at it first.
Me: It isn't going to start.
RAC: But we need to send an engineer out to try first.
Me: It isn't going to start.
RAC: How do you know?
Me: I got 3 specialist mechanic here, and the car does not have compression, send a Low Loader.
RAC: Oh, Okay. :D

Still couldn't thank the boys and gals who was there that day helping me out. Would of been great fun if my car didn't blow up.

Thanks for the comment guys, can't wait to get it back all running honestly. :D

And I will be back at Marham and hopefully we won't be pushing it on the back of the recovery truck again.

Then I will try to DOUBLE that 88.8 mph to see if I can go back to the future x2!!! :smoker:

It isn't a one off kit, but I mix aero parts from 6 different manufacturer. :D
Overall, I think it went pretty well together.
