I hope someone can help. Ive had my 350GT since may but been working overseas a lot this year but I am home for good now and finally finding some time to enjoy it

I have a little problem though which i should have sorted months ago. When i turn on my lights my dash lights go out (centre console etc light up fine). I thought it would be a two minute job to fix but i had it in the Nissan dealership for two days and they didnt have a clue how to fix it and said they couldnt make head or tail of the wiring loom. I have tried a specialist who wanted a grand and said they would need to rewire the lot to uk spec. He was definately having a laugh!

I suspect it is just a wire pair with the polarities back to front or something simple like that that was connected wrong during the SVA. I am starting to flap a little now with the days getting shorter. Does anyone know any good places in the North West that can probably sort it, or does anyone have access to the wiring diagrams that i can take to an auto electrician?

On another note, I am fancying coming along to the Blackpool meet this month. I see that while I have been away views havent changed much towards this car. Having never owned a "real" skyline and coming from two FTO's as my last cars, I am more than happy. Am I in for some stick if i turn up or will i be welcomed? :disappointed:

The 350GT does get a bit of stick but personally I like it.

I've read somewhere about a similar problem on another 350GT, if I can remember where I'll point you in the right direction.

Unfortuntely, as far as I can remember, it's a common factory problem and can only be rectified with a re-wiring. Don't quote me on that, but the problem and solution definitely 'ring-a-bell' so to speak

Sorry to bump. Can anyone point me in the direction of other forums where i can get help with my 350GT? There doesnt seem to be much action here for 350GT owners anymore. I can only guess from reading all the previous threads thats its because of the stick they have got. Hopefully not.

The problem you have is probably when the fog light was done for the sva. I had mine set up amongst the rear cluster lights rather than having a bolt on rear fog light, im guessing you have the same. Take it back to whoever did it and get them to check it out first.

Failing that the next best thing would be to do a quick sign up to g35driver (link below) which although is an American site it is huge and if you do a search in the forum area im sure you will find an awnser. The G35 is the same car as ours apart from the interior clock and us having folding wing mirrors instead of their cruise control . Feel free to post on the site as they have always been keen to welcome Brits there. There is also a U.K area to talk to other UK owners.

Yes bit sad about the V35 skyline not being accepted by most RB skylines as probably like yourself most V35 owners are skyline fans whatever model and would have been nice to have shared information etc about each others cars however i can understand why and fair enough its their site, it makes you feel a bit like a gate crasher so instead i joined a Japcar club and that works fine.

Try G35 Driver. I believe there are around 4 fuse boxes in the 350gt. One which houses 4/5 fuses just for the dash/surround.

Its a shame about the resentment of the V35. I dont mind a bit of banter and everyone is entitled to an opinion but some of the comments are quite strong and offensive. I suspect that many have never seen a 350 in the flesh let alone driven one. It is a damned good machine in every respect.

Personally, I always wanted a "real" skyline so set out to buy one and went around a few importers and did a few test drives and then saw my 350GT. Never owning a skyline before i didnt have any bias and am happy with my choice. I remembered the reason I was changing cars in the first place. Having owned two FTO's over the last 7 years and after shelling out thousands in mods realised that my car was getting tired and wasnt long left for this world,the forums were dying off and it felt like the end of the line. I just feel that maybe the skyline will go the same way. Things move on and so has Nissan.

Its just an opinion but i suspect i got a whole lot more for my money than i would have done for an old skyline and i will get a whole lot more years of enjoyment from the new car. £15k with 3000m on the clock and they hit the shops at £35k or thereabouts next year. all the half decent looking old models i looked at were £20k upwards.

I agree it is nothing like the R33/R34s and is a completely new car but at the end of the day it does say skyline on the back.

My only thoughts are that i have met the owner of this site and is a top fella so for him the growing numbers of V35 owners ( me + 1 last October that i knew of growing to 17 that i talk to now) its a possibility of quiet a lot of potential hits. Maybe the anwser is a sub heading , like 'was it you', under the banner of 350gt so we can discuss our car without being gunned down as the haters dont need to enter that part of the forum. That way the owner gets more members which i think will grow rapidly and everyone is happy we can also link it to the 3 main U.S sites as they are fanatics about our JDM cars, a lot of them tend to rebadge their Infiniti G35's back to Skyline 350gt's.
BTW the 3rd site is a smaller site but with some people that have built 500 +hp 350gt's .

I agree. its a good idea to have a sub-forum and tbh i dont blame people for not liking the new car, i agree its entirely different. Im just a guy looking for a bit of help and in time can give something back. It would be a shame not to have a proper forum here in the UK where everyone can help each other out.

When i had the FTOs i loved the spirit of the forums and everyone had something to offer and there was always newbs. Unfortunately, like i said before the FTO seems to have died a death.
