Maintenance "problems"?! Again, these aren't new cars so expect to spend money in places you wouldn't expect to spend it if you had a much newer car.

Don't read too deeply into what I've said, all n all the RB is a very reliable engine and the 2wd Skylines are fairly easy cars to work on. My R32 is at about 120,000kms and the only trouble outside routine maintenance it's given me in about 4 1/2 years was a water leak under the runners, which is a common problem.
The best advice I can give is to get a mechanic with Skyline knowledge to give a pre-purchase inspection. That alone will give an overall view on the health of the body and engine.
