I noticed a vibration noise comin from under my timing belt cover (cam cover) as you can hear from the attached sound clip from looking through previous posts on this site I narrowed it down to idle tensioners on timing belt

I brought it to a performance/tuning center that specialise in skylines and they couldnt really tell me a hole lot without bookin it in for a few tests because:

It is burning a bit of oil there is a bit of petrol in oil ( I think there is a bit of petrol in oil cause burst intercooler 3wks ago nd it was overfueling) Timing wasnt set when ever last owner had it so timing is all over the place oil in sump is getting a bit of back pressure

It is booked in for Compression test, cyclinder leak test, Oil pressure test, and Octane Set up

So what do people think is it really serious???? hopeing i wont need rebuild
How Health is my engine????

Any help would be great thanks

Hiya mate, I still have this rattle on mine but im still not sure that it is the cam belt idler/tensioner or the air con, a mechanic looked at it the otehr day and he thaught it was the air con. other than that i go no troubles, dosent use any oil and none of the other problems you are mentioning,

does yours sound the same as mine? (gonna hit that old thread of mine in a mo) or did u upload a seperate sound clip?

Cheers
