Powersteering comes and goes

Long story short, ill start the car up when she's cold and take her for a drive and the powersteering is fine, i could drive it all day perfectly, the moment i turn it off to lets say, fuel up, and start it again, the steering got stiff. Untill it cools down again. It has been relocated next to the radiator (topmount turbo) and the hoses are not close to touching the manifold. No strange noises

Any ideas?

Is your HICAS still installed and does the lamp come on? I have similar problem but when it happens I get HICAS lamp lit. Turn off for ten mins and all good again.

I think from reading other posts that the HICAS ECU is most likely culprit.

sometimes power steering acts up with problems with the speedo cable.

I have a lockout bar and the Hicas light is always on. Is there a place i can read up specifically on the speedo and Hicas part. maybe i can find a solution to it. Once my car warms up and i shut if off and then start it back up, the steering becomes stiff.
