Ive now had my R32GR from sept 2007
and now almost 3 years later without having to spend out much on her(and now out of M-O-T & TAX)

i think its time to start a build thread.......

my aim long term is

a 10 secon 1/4 slip
improve handling and grip (from the old kit it has now)
bring the interior upto 2010 standards but not loose the original feel/style
outside i want to make it look like somthing nismo would do to a R32GTR in 2010 (no looking like i've crashed into halfords shop window)

here are some pic's from when i drove down to see her

all standard apart from..

hks air filters
large tail pipe & Cr%p steel straight through exhaust & decat
hi-cas lock out
jap spec coilovers(totaly shot now)

more to come...

ok......got a bit more done over the weekend

to start with with i had to take the front bumper off to get it down the drive
then had to get it in place so it wouldn't be in the way for a couple of months

so as it was a dry day i started to strip it down a little before putting the garage up.....

now to start the stripdown and see how bad things are.....

time to take the battery off.....(which is heading for its new permanent home in the boot)

as you can see there is some rust to sort out.....
and the previous owners botched job on the wiring

first the frame goes up.....

then the top cover.....

then the sides....

the amount of room at the front....

the amount of room at the back.....
(and yes thats the original key from new)

and enough room down the side's.....

well thats faze one of the garage build.....

then we found

1/ the block's wern't heavy enough to weigh it down
2/ the sides were held on by three pieces of velco per side of the side
3/ the sides could do with been a little larger
4/ with it been a box it could colapse as the legs wern't cross braced to the roof poles

so now had to spend time sorting these out before i could get stuck in to work on the car again as it's got to last a few months....

ok faze two.....

sides first

1/ make them wider
2/ fix them to the poles better (keep the draft out)

starting with the standard side

a couple of lenths of white duct tape to make them wider

then some penny washers to provide the strenth and eyelets to tie them to the poles

then cover the washers with more duct tape traping the washers inside and make a hole in the tape in middle of washer (sorry for the state of this pic)

now on to the problem of the box(frame) colapsing

brace the corners

also you can see i've added a layer of tape to make the windows stronger and also how they are now tied to the frame (with 79p plastic coted washing line)

so now how to keep it on the ground

if i could i would have drilled a screwed it to the floor .....

but instead i.....

put the leg in a bucket added the block and added home made post mix function over style.....

only thing left to do is make a skirt to go around the bottom and sit under the buckets and blocks to keep more of the weather out !!!
