Long time reader, first time poster.

So long story short, I recent got myself a R33 GTST and I could NOT be happier, what a machine! I've had the car for a couple of weeks and I've identified some stuff that maybe I should've spotted before buying the car, but in any case I don't think much of it, nothing that can't be fixed :D

So over to the problem at hand, I noticed the other day when I opened the trunk that the lid is a bit skew it seems.

You can see images from both sides here https://imgur.com/a/3xGJUjk. From the right it seems fine but from the left you can clearly see a gap. I've looked over the hinges and they seem fine, no damages or so.

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this? Attempted break-in and then "fixed"? Or do you think it could be something more severe?

If anyone have any tip on how it could be corrected I'm all ears, was hoping to not buy a complete trunk ;P

Hi and welcome, try looking at the hinges to see if there is any movement in the holes, this would allow you to at least slacking the hinge and slide the boot back into place. As for what would have caused it, it will be hard to tell without seeing the car in person.

Thanks for the reply :) I checked on the hinges and I didn't notice anything out of place, haven't been any movement.

I did however notice one thing https://imgur.com/a/7CYTHYb. The right side is missing the rubber-thingy that is attached on the left side.

Could be lots of reasons mate.

Previous repair work from a crash.

Bits fell off and missing.

Removed for some other reason and badly refitted.

It is defo not normal to be sitting that far off though.

Yea I find it to be quite off as well, just trying to get an idea how "bad" the cause could be and thus how hard it would be get it sorted out. I was trying to see if there were anything damaged around the sides but nothing seemed to be repaired, no welds etc.
