My boss gets his new rs any time this week had green one with every poss add on you can think of, Should be fun in summer my gtst is only stage 1 around 300 to 320 not sure what will come out on top. they are only font wheel drive not very good if fancy getting it side ways just getting front wheels lit up. The thing that make me laugh is it still says volvo on the engine bay loom st and the new rs

They are meant to be pretty quick, I guess it will outhandle a GTS-T without issue. But arnt they 300bhp standard so your gains wont be much.

Well it is just a vovlo at the end of the day anyway.
focus rs's are mighty quick my mate has one i think they would defo outhandle and accelerate a gtst. unless the gtst had considerably more than 300bhp. the focus is lighter and if im honest the wastegate and engine noise is the nuts
i would not worry , he has a focus , you have a skyline :) , also i cant see there being anything between both cars really , a good stage 1 gtst will keep with a 300 brake fwd car
They are fast, even on my busa I had to look twice, they are more rapid than you would think.
Which woulld you sooner be driving though? i know what id rarther have.
the focus rs is not lighter than a gtst, the original is and is a better car,
it may be slightly lighter than a normal St but it's fat and slow :D ......I know, hahahahahahahahah loooossseeeerrrrrrrr !!! lol

yep the new one weighs in at 1468kg vs 1390kg for the skyline.

with a decent driver, i dont think it would outhandle a well setup gts-t ) (coilovers etc)

who cares anyway? its fwd tat............
yes i dont know where some are coming from with me getting out handled it is only front wheel drive and the price is silly for what it is. If i spent that on the gtst think of the power you would have. plus its a ford will have rot every where in no time lol

They dont sound half as good as a straight six, well i sure we will get to see which comes out on top who dares wins lol private road and all. So how do you think it would do against a gtr r33 then mate
Not much power in it between the gtst and gtr is there really, plus there is none of this 4 wheel drive noncense
I think the focus will be a little quicker, better round corners.
but not enough to make up for the difference between a good/bad driver.
anyway do you really want to be beating your boss in his 28k new car with more eletronics than the space shuttle in your 15 ish year old datsun lol
I don't know why people say that a fwd car will be better around corners than a rwd car, having had both very high powered fwd and rwd cars I can tell you that the rwd will always have better turn in and a higher exit speed than a fwd
My fiesta was 300 bhp, 760 kg and had a decent LSD and tbh it was awsome far quicker than the new rs but the minuet you try and put decent power in or out of a corner it just spins up and goes straight, the RS does have many electronic aids but all of them cut power to gain grip,
Why is it that any other high powered rwd car say a ferrari or BMW m3, porche ect never attracts cornering critasism but the poor old GTSt gets written off as a poor handling car, second best even than a fat FWD re-badged volvo Admitidly as a std car the GTSt is " interesting" but with good bushes , good suspention uprated ARB and good brakes and tires it's as good as any off them ;)
sum of the reports iv seen on the rs look pretty grippy it hangs on in the corners and looks pretty nippy but its a new car with the new car price tag so they have to them summat for the price i suppose :) i know wat i would be spending that type of coin on and it wouldnt b a ford a well sorted skyline i think so :D
At the end of the day they have to sell these cars, and TBH I think Ford have pulled the old Jag E Type gag as they aren't quick ;) either that or I have been spoilt over the years with the older fords and their huge power to weight advantage :D
Answer me this what would be better a 300 BHP 3 door cosworth or the Focus RS
My money is on the 3 door at 1220 kg's :)
if your worried get some more goodies bolted on make it 400bhp job done. I had a ST at some lights once it did well and almost kept up only dropped slightly behind i'm only at stage 1 + forged internals on standard boost
Its the cost though mate just in middle of buying my first house, once every things gone through will spend some money on engine would love it at 400 would just be enough. We dont half have some banter at work about the fords and skyline jap crap as they say lol

Tbh mate i get in front and stay in front but i dont pull on him like i do alot of cars its a gradual pull past. once your getting up to speed is when i start to show him the legs. appologies for saying they weighed less than a gtst that was an error on my part. wether there faster or not is irrelivent you have a skyline :yum::yum:. i do like his car it looks nice go's well and regardless of what others say it sounds awesome the wastegate noise is awesome the brakes are excellent and even though its front wheel drive handles sweet. they are expensive but of all the new hot htches its the one id have!
Handling wise, I know that I could go belting down tight roads in my MG ZS180. Whereas Im still wary of pushing the GTS-T. Just had new coilovers fitted so that may help, just need some decent weather now to test it ;)
