Question I have had for a while now! The tiptronic R34 GTT has an oil cooler sitting behind the front bumper which is used to cool the autobox oil. Would it be possible to use this to cool the engine oil instead? I will not have a use for it soon as my manual gearbox is going in effectively make this auto box oil cooler redundant. Anyone ever heard of this being done?

Not heard of this being done Owen, but generally it should be possible I´d guess. I don´t know though how big the cooler is (if it´s too small, not worth it) and also you would have to fabricate something to connect the lot to your engine oil system, so hoses, connections, sandwich plate etc. would be needed.

Personally I think don´t bother!!!

Sell it after you took it out and get yourself a proper oil cooler for your engine. You don´t wanna mess around with engine oil plus oil cooler kits really aren´t that expensive, so I doubt you would save any money by going the other route let alone value for money...
