Hi all,,
I'm confused .... I've been reading various old threads on NVCS and I can't really find a definitive answer.
As I understand it, the R33 has NVCS on the intake cam, and it operates between a low and high RPM setting specified in the ECU.
On the R34 NEO, there is a VCT solenoid on the inlet side that allows or blocks the flow of oil into the NVCS system, and I have read it also has NVCS on the exhaust cam??

So my question ... on a LinkECU for example, you can control which RPM the VCT solenoid opens and closes, but does this just operate the inlet cam or both?

I fell like i may be missing something.

thanks in advance, and apologies if this is explained elsewhere

ok I think I've answered my own question. The R34 NEO does not have VCT on the exhaust side ~(despite what some other skyline forum threads are saying) , it is only on the inlet cam and the solenoid operates as a simple on / off switch between approx 1200 rpm and 5000rpm to advance the inlet cam. So not really any different to the R33 :)
