Hi all,

I have been using the search function before this post but could not find a definitive answer.

Under hard braking in a straight line (just upgraded the brakes, so testing them) I notice the oil pressure drops to under a bar on my Greddy gauge on a S1 RB25DET.

Is this a symptom of a tired oil pump?

Cheers all

Garth

As the engines fitted in a S14 200sx and we were not sure if the standard oil pressure sensor would work in the loom etc... I fitted the greddy sender in place of the standard one

Hope this helps

Hello,

I have a similar problem in my S14a runnign RB25. Mine has a brand new N1 oil pump.
On cold engine the oil pressure is about 6-7 bar. When the engine is hot - 2bar around 3000rpm - 6seems to be fine. However under braking the pressure drops to 2 bars.
What can it be?

Could be the oil surging forward in the sump, thats why a lot of drifters use a baffled sump to elevate this oil pressure drop issue under hard braking/drifting....
