My engine just been finished and wanted to share my setup with you:

Block bored, honed and fully cleaned. Balanced and built by Pro Import Motorsports

Wiseco 87mm forged pistons.
Nitto steel headgasket.
ACL bigend and main bearings.
ARP head, rod and crank bolts.
Nismo 550cc injectors
Greddy oilpump.
Custom oilsump.
uprated fuelpump (brand unknow)
Greddy TD06SH 25G top mount turbo kit.
OS giken twin plate clutch.
HKS airfilter.
This all running on a haltech ECU on MAP sensor mapped on 1.3 bar producing somewhere between 450 and 500 bhp on the crank.

Maybe forgot something but i'm really happy with the engine and the car is really tailhappy :D

Hi all
My engine has just been finish building.

RB25DET but 2JZ GTE pistons
Steel head gasket
650cc injectors
RB26DETT intake with VH45 throttle
2JZ GTE map no airflow
cams 264 lift 9.3 in/ex Greddy camgear adjusts
Mistu TD06 20G 10cm2
Trust intercooler
Waste gate Tail
Fuel pump NISMO
Regulator NISMO
OS giken twin plate
Tein HE spec drift
Tomei LSD 2 way
Everything else engine standard so will properly go for 7500 rpm not more.
Will be tuned tomorrow with HKS F con V pro.
I have waited a long time for this moment.

I know that the turbo is bit small but I wanted to get quick pulls.
Thinking about 1 bar or 1.2 bar.

Will let you guys know how this setup will run.

RB25DET

It's running great pulling up pretty scary and will be going on to the dyno end of the month.
The only down thing with this setup is that the VH45 throttle has a bit slower response in throttle so maybe will be going back to standard throttle. But when the boost comes it just pulls all the way hard to the redline and it comes full at 3000rpm. Running only 0.9 bar boost. I think I got enough power no need to go to 1.2 bar boost.

Hey Guys Just bought a 4 door ER34 rb25det neo. This Post is great. But there is one thing that I really want to know, It was already asked by someone but no-one replied to him.

What are the differences between the rb25det and rb25det NEO?

I have been looking it up but would also like to hear what you guys have to say.

Also Will all Hardware and software work on both engines?
ie. Can I buy anything for my engine and not worry that it wont fit?

Thanks Guys!

few things wrong with your description

td06 aint a small turbo, its a 500bhp+ one.

also you cant fit a vh45 throttle to a gtr inlet as they already have six individual throttle bodys. you must mean a greddy style inlet also its the tune making it slow to respond not the throttle body.

Most things are the same, Inlet manifold I believe is different and things like the cams are different as the NEO has solid lifters.

Main differences are Neo has:

- solid lifters not hydraulic ones
- different pistons
- different coilpacks
- different turbo (slightly bigger exhaust housing, different wheel material, will fit a non-neo-engine though)
- different clutch (pull instead of push)
- different smic (thicker than non-neo)
- different afm (at least compared to non-neo series 1)
- different CAS

Plenty of things though are interchangeable.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my R34 GT-T, I installed the intake manifold direct and I took off the traction control throttle body, now when I accelerate at full load I will turn the check engine light. What can it be? The ECU is original. Sorry for english!!! :)

RB25DET

I think the TD06 20G is small but a TD06 25G not that will see 500+

I am looking for some other tuners. You are right that the response can be better by the tuner. The rb26dett inlet has been made as greddy style.

But anyway I am pretty happy with the car goes. Just letting you guys know that this is a pretty descent tune to ride with. Any questions about this tune send me message happy to tell all info I have done.

when the head gasket needs upgradingwhen you want to run more than 1.2bar
no to offend at all but depending on the turbo your yousing running 1.2bar isnt specific say on a holset hx40 if you run 1bar your likley to blow the gasket. it depends on the flow after all more flow and less boost is better as keeps the air temp down but runs the risk of gasket failure

Sorry if this has been covered already, but the "upgrade the head gasket past 1.2 bar" thing is utter horse manure. Boost doesn't kill head gaskets, bad fueling and pre-dedonation does. Also, using a thick head gasket to decompress the head is asking for big trouble. The RB engine uses quench pads built into the head that are machined and setup so that there is a very fine tollerance between the flat area of the piston and the quench pad. This squishes the air out from between the pads and the piston causing it to tumble for a more complete burn. By throwing in a much bigger head gasket you are cocking up this clearance which causes hot spots and det on the quench pads.

Not smart.

If you are removing the head and/or replacing a head gasket, always stick with standard thickness(1.1mm) plus the amout removed from the head. You'll then need to machine the combustion chamber quench pads to setup the clearance. Many people don't do this and it causes problems.
