Thought it might be helpful to have a collection of recommended garages/ workshops in Germany when need arises.

Please feel free to add your thoughts.

This thread is not to be used for blaming / accusations.
If your experience differs with a given recommendation just mention that your experience is diverse.
Details can be discussed via PM or another thread.

So far I did not find a single spot I would recommend as there were always promises not held or quality issues.

Generally a good idea Frank. Unfortunately past has shown that threads like these always end up in blaming other people and their work. You could post as many times as you want asking people not to do it. It will still end up like this.

In the end everyone will have to make his own experience and decide wether the garage is worth spending hard earned or not.

I know where you´re coming from and I´m with you that this thread could actually be usefull for members, but people normally tend to missuse it.

We can keep this thread going to see what happens.

If it goes out of order though it´ll be closed immediately!

Well went to the Nissan Dealer in K-town and he said they couldnt do anything for me. something along the lines of only working on/ buying parts for german model Nissans. Although I have to say he was excited to look at my car but he clearly knew nothing about them when he asked "is it RHD?" well I guess theres not that many driving around here these days...oh well I just wish I knew someone around here that wasnt affraid to work on them. I like to do stuff myself but some stuff I just cant do all on my own.

The Nissan Dealer near the Stuttgart Airport was vrey helpful with my last skyline so much that I will be taking my 02 there when it arrives from Japan. It's only 1 Good specialist there and he usually wears overalls (not the old guy) but the parts are kinda expensive depending what you want but I had no problem getting what i needed sometimes it took a few days getting the parts though.

Hi Folks,

forget any regular German NISSAN-Dealers as they do not have any access to SKYLINE-data as this car was never designed to be on German roads. So it is to be expected to pay way on TOP when asking for service.

Anyway, there are several Japan-Car workshops around Germany but most of them are private Backarea DIY´s of ethusiasts who are very helpful and some are very recommended, but when it comes to warranties, it´s somewhat tricky.
I did import a R34 "GT" in 2008, just an ordinary non at all modyfied version and was gobschmacked what prices came up when trying to get it road legal in Germany (MOT´ed)
Anyway I was lucky enough to find the company "MPS-engineering" and must say, that with my 46 yrs of age having seen many car-wokshops (primarely Nissan-Dealers), I surely consider "MPS" my most favorite for Japancars, especially SKYLINE´s

http://www.mps-engineering.de/imprint

MPS is located in DÜLMEN (Duelmen-Muensterland Northrine Westphalia) where also the WIESMANN-Roadster manufactors are.

Regards, Ralf

Story:
MPS helps Briton with a used R33 GTR gearbox:
see http://www.mps-engineering.de/customer_cars/2009/05/05/R33_GTR_

I met Justin the R33 GTR owner last year Carfriday at the RING, he was on a bike and when he came to our parked Skyline´s he did ask for help regarding a gearbox as his gave up on the track. He was stranded already a few weeks at the RING as no British dealer was able to come up with what he needed. He was given many adresses during his stay but when I had Justin call MPS the next day he was able to pick up his exact needed gearbox for an outstanding low price.

PS: though my car has MPS decals on it but only for the benefit to have reasonable service as I am a gardener-landscaper with only a green and not oily thumb !!!

Hi ya Guys:) Haven't been here in a while.... sorry for the delay ;)

Well, I know this thread is for GERMAN garages, but I thought I might add our garage in here as well;

We are specialized in JDM cars in general, work very close with some of the leading internationally known garages such as R.I.P.S, Bulletproof or Top Secret and are also the official importer for Top Secret products as found on their homepage;)

We are expanding and our garage has moved to a new location, because we are now FINALLY able to offer a 4X4 Dyno in our garage!:) We have moved to Safenwil which is in fairly in the middle of Switzerland, approx 30mins from Zürich.

Just wanted to point out.. although we have the same name as a german garage we are NOT a subsidiary company or what so ever!

regards,
Joey
