I have a problem with the rev counter which doesnot respond to engine speed but just slowly moves round the dial even if the engine is not running but the ignition is on.
i know a few people have had similar problems & it has been suggested a bad earth at the back of the clocks.
I've got the clock cluster out & cleaned all the connections but still no joy.
I've taken the cluster apart & removed the rev counter dial/ pcb.
There is a small blue adjustable pot on the side of the pcb.
Anyone know what this is for?

Also can I test the signal from the ecu with just an ordinary volt meter or do i need a scope?

The pcb has quite a few components on it including a chip, they all look fine but I'm sure it would only take a minor problem to cause the fault.

I had problems with my speedo. It turned out to be the faulty KM to Mile converter thingy.
If only.....
No it's still on std Km's .
I enjoy the challenge of mental arithmetic when passing speed cameras or the police are following me

It's all back together now, still not working.
I will investigate the ECU end at the weekend.

Thanks anyway.
