Not sure on the cost but it will definitely last if all the rust is removed, welded properly, and painted. Does the place you got it done at first not offer some sort of guarantee?

if you remove the arch and weld a new one in the rust shouldnt come back if its done correctly mate 
so should last 15 years again

Speed: any ideas how much it would cost to weld in 2 new arches & re-paint? Are the arches readily available to a bodyshop?

i dont know if rear arches are available mate but my bodyshop friend said it would cost around £250 a side to weld and paint a new arch in if they were available mateSouthpaw: yes 12 month guarantee which has expired

i had a rust problam on my 32gtr it looked like the owner from me had just put body filler over the rust holes on the rear arch so when i come to tap with a hammer it all just crumbled ended up cutting it all out and getting some sheet metal and fabricating my own it cost a woping £10 and around 3hour of my time
