Unless you have SORN 'd it mate,it's classed as still on the road.
So therefore unless it's wriiten off off and you've been told,
your insurance still needs to be payed mate.
Hope you get sorted soon though. :bigthumb:

Oh ok mate.
Then in that case stop your insurance DD and seek advice on re-claiming your money.
What is your insurance company's reason for still taking their payments
and delaying the picking up of your un-roadworthy vehicle then please mate?
Or if your NCB are protected then maybe see the payments out.
This is a tough 1 mate.
When is your renewal due?
if you pay monthly then you will have to pay the remainder of the policy when they pay you out. So either way you will have to pay it. Just make sure they only take out the correct amount though.

I speak from experience on this one.

I'd be wary about stopping the DD - as far as I was aware most insurance claim payouts are dependent on the full years payments being made.. after all, we could all crash the car one month after buying, get a full payout and only have paid £50 or something instead of the quoted annual amount.

If you're paying monthly, there's usually some small print about needing to continue payments, or get the remaining term taken out of any lump sums they send to you.

Have a check on your policy and see what it says.. if you *can* stop, then do, otherwise you might end up in some sticky position.

Thanks for your info guys
i have proteced ncb but gess what my insurance has gone up big time had some quotes and they have gone up 400
this 1 for start clio 172 had 1 last year ful comp 500 this year 1095
since i had this clame
Depends on the company.. Some you will have to pay the remainder of the year.. Some you don't..
As said, you need to check before you stop your DD.

In most cases you're not paying your insurance monthly you're paying back a finance agreement.
i've always been under the impression that if you crash you have to pay the remainder of the year and if you stop paying then that's as good as cancelling your insurance altogether and you'll end up screwed
I'm surprised they haven't asked you to pay the remainder of the policy before they settle, a lot of companies are writing in clauses now that if your car is a total loss your policy dies with it.
read thru ur policy including small print then speak to Dan at A-Plan and get his advice
