*** Silverstone (main track) and Donnington confirmed for BDC 2010! ***

This is the best news I've heard from any championship this winter! The British Drift Championship has always had the best atmosphere at the events but the lack of big fast tracks put a bit of a dampener on it for me. I was gobsmacked when I heard they got Knockhill for the top 16 finals of the last round (please make it pro qualifications as well BDC!) but now they've got the main Silverstone complex as well! So look forward to some big speeds and big smokes from SkylineOwners at BDC this year! We're expecting plenty of support as always from the forum :D

Ladies and gents

We have some very important announcements regarding dates and venues of events for the 2010 season.

Due to circumstances completely beyond our control it has been necessary to make these changes, and we apologise for any inconvenience they may cause.

Firstly, we can now announce the revised date and location of round 4.

The championship will make a welcome return on Saturday 10th July to the Launch Pad at Donnington Park. We hoped to introduce a new venue to the calendar, however, after prolonged negotiations this became impossible to secure.

The track layout at the Launch Pad will be designed to test drivers to the max with an ultra fast entry and a technical infield section. An expectant crowd will be in awe of the close proximity of the cars to each other and the action will not fail to disappoint!

Another change has been made to enhance the championship in 2010. Round 2 will see the Pros and Semi Pros compete at independent events on different weekends at different venues.

Round 2 for the Semi Pro class will take place at Llandow, South Wales on Saturday 1st May. With an entire day and venue to themselves, this will give the Semi Pro drivers more practice than ever before at a BDC event and a chance to improve their skills early on in the season at this popular circuit. The format will be similar to 2009 with the top 8 final being the highlight of the day. With seat time at a premium the battle for top honours will be closer than ever!

Round 2 for the Pro class will see drivers take centre stage at this year’s JTS (Japanese Tuning Show) at Silverstone on Sunday 23rd May. For the first time the BDC has secured the use of the main track, using the Brooklands and Luffield complex.

Concerns over practice can be dismissed immediately because, as always, the BDC has negotiated as much track time as possible. This will allow you as drivers, ample opportunity to become accustomed to the demands of this world famous high speed circuit. This is seen as another step forward in BDC history, and we hope you will embrace the chance to compete on the world famous Silverstone Circuit.

We appreciate these announcements may affect some drivers' plans and for this we apologise. We have tried our hardest to keep the championship to the original schedule, but despite our best efforts this has proved impossible.

All drivers have been sent an email regarding licence renewals.

Any 2009 licence holder who has not received this email please let us know and we will forward you a copy.

An additional email will be sent to drivers in the next few days regarding championship payments and further details.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask via pm or preferably email [email protected]
