ok here's the lowdown on my mods:

HKS Super Induction kit
HKS Exhaust
Modified wastegate
Turbosmart BOV (to be fitted)
Dawes Device (to be fitted)

I want to run 1 bar (currently i'm running 0.4-0.5bar) will
the fuelling be ok for 1 bar boost?

also what sort of power should I be getting? I want 300BHP:)

Thks

Be careful at 1 bar u need ur fueling and air ratios spot on
and check the turbo what year is it if is ealry one may have steel turbo some have got them fitted, if u take off the inlet pipe to compresser housing u should be able to feel of plastic or steel
if u get fueling sorted u can run at about .9 all day lon i do mines fine goes so much beeter with stock slolenoid dissconected pulls really hard, oh and get good boost gauge just to make sure ideally u should get gtr or uprated fuel pump hks etc (speak to sumo they do uprated ones now for gts ) and adjustable fuel regulator then should be fine at 0.9

please correct me if any of my facts are duff

Thks GTSM,

Thing is I already have a HKS electronic one, but I can't figure out how to use it!!, Power Engineering said I should ditch it:( ,
so that's why i'm going for a Dawes Device - cost effective & very very stable as it is not just a bleed valve.

My car is manufactured in Dec 1994, what's better a steel turbo or
plastic?

I have a HKS boost guage already which is good, once i've fitted
the BOV & Dawes i'm gonna take it to P.E to see if the fuelling is
ok and the car doesn't pink :)

same thing

Can I ask the same question -

Mods -

Trust FMIC
Apexi AVC-R
Apexi downpipes
De-cat
Apexi Induction
Blitz exhaust
GTR fuel pump
Iridium spark plugs
Greddy e-manage

Will be getting set up on rolling road? Is 1 bar safe or better to stick to 0.8 or 0.9?

Also hopefully, fingers crossed, getting the turbo rebuillt with steel internals - what can I go to then 1.2 bar?

Aiming for 300 as well
:)

Cheers

Class.

Thanks for that. Thats about the most hilarious thing I have heard for weeks.

Deary me.

What model EVC is it? I thing we should work towards getting that up and running properly rather than playing around with highly technical Dawes Devices...;)

lol Nathan,

Yeah I know it sounds funny but I was advised to ditch the thing!!, also P.E didn't show any interest in trying to set it up
just that if I go on the HKS site I might be able to get some
instructions!! & that if I could figure it out he'd give me a job!!:)

I'll have a look later for the model, but yes it would be good if I could get it to work!!

My logic - spend £50 on a Dawes & it's sorted??

Just about says it all really.....

'If you don't know how it works, it's s**t'

An interesting analogy.

OK, let us know. If it's EVC-4 the instructions are for all to see on the HKS website. I'm not sure if the EVC-5 has been uploaded yet but as has been mentioned, there are plenty of people who know how to work them. It's obviously extremely hard so maybe they might want to apply for jobs at NASA when they have finished.

My logic- If a £50 device works as well as a something costing 10 times the amount then HKS/Apexi/Blitz etc. have sure ripped off a few people....

Nathan, ok have taken a closer look at it, it's not got a clear model though:D , in green lettering it says Electroniv Valve
Controller and on the underside there is a sticker VIII 14986, not
sure if that relates to a model no......

Lee where abouts are you based?, I would be happy to pay
you for your time if you could set it up for me:)

hoorah managed to get the EVC working:)

the two boost setting are: Low 0.5bar High; 0.85bar

I even tried it at 0.9bar but it started beeping, which I guess
is the in built safety function........

Anyhow it was still fairly tricky to set up!!!!!!!!

Thks for the help!!

Thks Lee,

Had another play with it, and now correctly set up to 0.9bar
on high boost, has made so much difference:)

hard bit was finding a stretch of road that I could drive to the
redline in 3rd gear!! - got there in the end!!

Do you think it is safe to run it at 1 bar?? or should I just keep
it safe at 0.9bar??

ps now i've got a dawes Device I don't need!!
