hi all

just been offered an r33 gtr engine with a single turbo conv
good for 500-600 bhp

the thing is i need to sell my engine out of my 33 gts-t
so the question is how much am i looling at for my engine
its got a few bits and bobs in but still std really(lots of parts been replaced for new)
its in very good condition

please help as i need to be quick :D

i've seen them go for between £800 and £1500 so i guess it just depends on how much you want the RB26 and how quick you want to sell the RB25

Will definately depend on the price that you are willing to sell your engine for, if you want a good price for it then you may find you have to hold on to it for a while.

i'm not a million miles away then i was thinking 1100
the price of the gtr engine is 2800 all in
which i'm happy with and 400-500 to get it swaped over

is there any thing i shoiuld be careful about or check in to or anybody been down this road please share your views and experiences

i think someone turboed an na rb25de, which was rear wheel drive. they ran around the 345 bhp and then ran into problems with clutch and gearbox not liking the power. with the rb26dett up front and nearly twice that the rest of the car might be found wanting. ? so perhaps ensuring the gearbox is up to the job whilst your on might not be a bad thing.

i think i made a misteak eheeheh

looks like i need to get inj/afm's
so its just fallen out of my price range GUT :(

would of liked the gtr engine
but i think its just to much so i'm keeping mine i think

hi lemsip, ive just put an RB26 in my gts and its not a straight forward swap mate, you have to cut out the complete front half of the wiring loom and re-install a gtr loom, cut out the 4 wheel drive tansmission out of the sump, bigger intercooler, etc much more to do, the standard gts gearbox bolts straight onto the rb26, and can take a fair bit of stick mate, im running mine in now, but ill be pushing between 650-700bhp through it, ;)

Take the 2.800 pounds you were willing to pay for the GTR engine and put them into your RB25DET. You´ll be surprised how much of a difference there will be if you´ve chosen the right parts man!

Give it a go and you will see that you´ll be able to eat some slightly tuned GTRs! :drivin:

yea my friend who will do the work did say some thing about sump/loom/downpipe/etc
its all in the price ish give and take

the thing is i was going to spend 2600 on the tubby kit i wanted
i just thought a gtr engine is more tunable and i would get more power for my money
but after fineing out that i would have to buy 550cc injectors and change the afm's then get it mapped up the cost went up from just under £2400 (thats with a £1000 part x with my engne)to over £3300

this is the spec of my engine so far .
hks induction kit
apexi SR exhaust
ngk iridium plugs
Apexi avc-r Boost controller
FMIC
hks Downpipe
hks D Cat
Spitfire coilpacks (After 1st dyno)
walbor Uprated fuel pump
sards FPR
New lamda sensor!!! (AFTER 1st dyno)
Apexi mocal oil cooler
apexi metal head gaskest
nismo clutch
lighten fly wheel
nismo clutch cover
new timing belt and other belts to
water pump
pfc

as u can see i will have to change the piston/rods/bigend bearing/etc then get a tubby to match the power i think i would get out of the gtr engine
if that makes sense :)

please correct me if i'm wrong which i'm all ways am :)
