It's probably literally just a little more optimised, if let's say the V1 gets you 315hp, you fit V2 and you get 319hp, but if you get it custom mapped you'll get 326hp - all on the exact same setup.

Anyway i'd like one :)
Yeah I am thinking that. Not really worth it for what I use the car for as wouldn't notice such a small change. Unless it can add an extra 5mpg of course!

There's no moaning or expecting going on, but you don't get if you don't ask. I won't be the only person who's wondering. :)

As for generic maps being ****, they aren't. They're a compromise for those of us who don't have the money for a custom map, or people who plan on more mods in future, but don't want to pay for a map twice.

And if they had the old ones back, there's nothing stopping them from selling them cheaper than the v2 ones, or simply changing the chip and then having more v2 ECUs sat on the shelf ready for any new customers.

I can see your point stuart, but anyone running skylines would be more than aware of the costs involved with running one. it aint no 1.2 corsa... yeah i appreciate a generic map "can" be ok but nothing like a custom map. just dont see the point in buying a 5k+ motor to then skimp out of tuning it properly.

I had thought about buying the v1 a couple of weeks ago and yes i would have been a bit pissed if a week later they had a new better map, i would however expect bells to be honest and tell me there is new one due very soon, if they didnt then i wouldnt ever go back to them, so they would lose alot of potential ££££

so Bells wheres the graph for OEM vs V1 vs V2, cause that what we wanna see

The point of the new revision is not to offer it as a upgrade over the original that I done 6years ago but as a new version of the map with some extra refinements and changes that I have discovered and found work over the years.

Changes have been made to the scaling of the maps, rev limit, Boost limiter, VVT cut point and the fuel and ignition curves. The new version will make slightly more power at the expense of having to use Shell v-power or better as the ignition has been remaped using this fuel which is where the extra power will come from. Alot of the other adjustments are aimed at how the car feels and drives.

As the original plan was not really to offer a upgrade route to older ecus but more a new version for new customers. However if people would like to upgrade we have now come up with a few options. In my opinion it would not be worth the extra to upgrade to the new software as you are not going to feel a extra 5-10bhp or the slight increase in torque. However he are the prices if you wish to upgrade.

Upgrade from version 1 stage 1 to version 2 on a ecu exchange would be £60+vat and delivery
Upgrade from generic or stage 2 ecu would be £120+vat and delivery on a ecu exchange. The reason for the higher price on this one is that we can not use the original chip but on the stage 1 ecus we will offer a version 1 ecus that have been exchanged cheaper on ebay auctions as they come available.

I am away not until Wednesday but I will post up the original dyno sheets when I`m back.

I'd be very interested in the V2 map, if there is an exchange option that wouldn't leave my car without the ECU for 2 weeks. 5-10bhp wouldn't hurt on track either, but i'm more interested to see if a slight hesitation between 2000-3500rpm goes away with a new map (and i run 100 octane fuel already) :)

I have a font mount, full exhaust system not sure about decat as only got it recently plus passed an mot ok also induction kit. I only use v power but I wouldn't no how to increase the boost. So this would cost 210 plus my old ecu? Would having a 300zx ecu make things better? I have both ecus cheers

Standard, V1 Stage 1 (discontinued) and V2 Stage 1 (only type available)

The stage 2 as said before has a smoother power delivery, Better topend power and torque. Tweaked ignition and fueling tables. Better map scaling. The Boost limit have been re installed rather than removed and raised to 1.0b.

The Version 2 map is now the ONLY one that any new ecu will be programmed with. As we said above it is not intended for you to be upgrading from Version 1 - Version 2 as in our opinion the improvments are not massive. But for people who are starting out and want there ECU done it will be the VERSION 2 map.

I hope that clears everything up.
