585 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  lplatedrifter
Hiya! would any one be able to reccomend a good turbo for drifting, for my gtst r32 (rb20det) i am looking for something that will bolt strait on to my standard mani, could you also advise of what supporting mods i will need for the turbo's you reccomend.

At the moment i only have a turbo back exhaust, k&n cone filter and a mines ecu.

Cheers!

rebuilt oem one :)

but you will need a remap, better fuel pump, better clutch and a remap
Silly as it sounds, and I don't mean this offencive, but have you drifted already?

I mean, I had this big plans of making my car a powerfull drifter and spends loads of money on it. Then someone said: do you know how to drift? Not just pull the ebrake, but really drift? And I don't.

So right now, my money goes into a few extra's like oilcooler and alu-rad, then just going for seattime. Spending money on tyres and learning how to drift. When I got that covered, I'll start building a powerfull car. ;)

Now, if you DO know how to drift, something like a rebuild OEM one or maybe a HKS GT-SS or GT-RS would be nice. A GT-RS might be a bit to big for a 2 liter, even if it is straight-6, but should give you some nice power.

But like Ian said, the turbo itself isn't enough. With the turbo, remap, fuelpump, clutch and other little things, you are looking at 4000-5000 pounds easy.

Some good advice there:iagree:
I'd recommend a hks 2530 or rebuild a oem one "rsp hybrid", good for 350bhp with supporting mods.

deffo 2530 very very very responsive turbo just whats needed for drifing, feck all lag in it too.

hybrids are just as good too again with supporting mods
I wouldnt bother just buy a cheap bmw to drift and when youve trashed that start thinking about your skyline,
thats what i did.

HAHA yea thats exaxtly what i did, i got an old bmw 318i welded the diff and went out to play (this was about three years ago) then i brought a gtst r32 which was already running 300bhp which i learnt to drift properly in for about a year and a half then stupidly i sold it!:nonono: now iv got another one but its just so low on power compared to my old one and i cant remember what it had done to it turbo wise, im finding im just needing more power for the longer drifts, rounderbouts are fine, plenty of power for that but gets boring :( need more power for dry longer bends. i am looking at an rb25 or 26 conversion next year so dont want to spend loads of money on this engine! any one know what the max bar/psi you can put thru standard turbo? have fmic on order, hks boost cont, iridi plugs, splitfire coilpacks, walbro fuel pump, apexi neo and few other little things so hopefully iv got supporting mods covered to up the power just need new turbo or boost up old one and injectors, any size reccomended?

Cheers guys!
