Power Upgrades - What to Start With?

I'm sure there is a lot of information out there.....Where is the best place to start spending money on performance? Engine management, turbo, injectors, fuel pump? I only want to do things once, don't know much about a turbo car my son talked me into it. We are looking to get 400 to 500 hp out of it, I hope without rebuilding the motor. FYI.....my son is 11 and we are working together on the car, which is awesome:) We found a nice R32 over the summer and plan to get it all perfect...... We made some cool license plate brackets.....Teaching machining and CNC....

My R33 has air filters, twin turbo baffle pipe, 555 injectors, straight through exhaust with cat removed, R34 turbos and turbo elbows, rb25 afms, nistune chip installed.

Had it recently remapped and it achieved 402bhp at a very modest 13.5psi.....so plenty more power available.

Remove the restrict or on the boost solenoid. That's the first cost free mod. Then I would underseal the chasis and arches and cavities with epoxy mastic 121 and dynax s50. This way your r32 will last a lifetime. After that, exhaust, decat, downpipe and boost controller. Then get it mapped. This should get you over 320 bhp. After that injectors, coils and turbos for 400 bhp+. However at this point you should also be looking to prevent oil starvation and upgrading the brakes.

Good Places to start

I just replaced the front tie rod ends, removed the CAT(since it was up in the air) and installed an aftermarket oil pressure sending unit. My original gage kept dropping to 0.....didn't want to kill the engine, pressure is fine just want to make sure. Hope to have it back on the road by the end of the week, just in time for winter :(

Where is the boost restrictor on the solenoid? Also aftermarket coils, adjustable shocks and computer upgrad from what I can tell are on it.

Anyone have any experience with Haltech engine management? Figured Id get a computer before starting to upgrade so I can tune as I go.....

Locate the boost solenoid, should be near the front of the drivers side strut. One of the vacuum hoses has a yellow line. This will be where the restrictor is.

You should speak to a tuner about the ecu. Haltech and link g4s are popular.
