I'm going to get my valve covers painted so i need to take them off.

I was wondering if it would be necessary to change the gasket or if i'd be ok reusing the old one.


Also, while it's off, is there anything worth checking out in there?

Is it possible to see if i have aftermarket valve lifters? or wont those be visible with just the covers off?

I reused mine and all was good, depends what condition they are in, you'll soon see when you start pulling them off, they are rubber and are pretty good quality to start with, if it's your daily drive and you can't risk it then just order some from Middlehurst Nissan, not sure on your other question...

i reused mine but when the garage took the covers off they put new ones on .......

like Japtasstic says they are pretty beefy, and fairly well protected so as long as the surface of the head is clean when you refit it should be ok......
