Hi

I have noticed that the steering wheel is starting to vibrate under heavy braking, I am assuming this is a tracking and wheel balance problem.

Does anybody think it could anything more serious?

Thanks for the replies

I was thinking of ugrading my brakes, so this sounds like a must now.

I was going for EBC disk on front, mleave the old disks on the back and get yellow stuff all round, Oh! and replace my brack fluid with DOT 5.1.

Dose this sound good like a plan.

Thanks

1. There's no such thing as "warped" discs, you have just hot-spotted them.

2. They don't need "fixing with a new one", they can be skimmed for a lot less than a new set of discs and it gives an excellent result. These days it can be done on-car while you wait.

I've used WGT in Middlewich and can recommend them (they're RX7 specialists actually), but I'd recommend on-car over off-car skimming whoever you use.

It depends. :)

If your discs are grooved then it would be a good idea - the pads will have worn themselves into a matching shape, so won't fit your nice new smooth discs too well.

Otherwise if you have plenty of meat left on them you should be fine. If they're getting near replacement time anyway, you might as well change them early.

Thanks for the info

Ive going to upgrade anyway, first step is booking into Abbey to replace the brake fluid with something I know i.e. ATE Super Blue Racing. Once this is done I will be going down the EBC Disks and Yellow stuff pads root.

Thanks all
