Hi Vicki,

As you know in June my misses ordered a HKS SSQV 2 from you Happy Thread, and I was very, very happy.... unfortunately 5 months later the valve has failed.

We were joining an A Road last night and the car just stopped pulling and we could hear all our boost blowing outside, so in the morning I investigated and from what I can see the valve inside has come off, and the boost is leaking the valve makes no noise and the car goes no where.

I put the factory unit back on and car is sweet as hell again, only running stage one 0.87 bar.

What is the process for getting a replacement?

Regards,

Neil & Annie.

Me too chap,

It needs replacing as I wouldn't want this one repairing in case it goes again and, to be fair I wouldn't of expected this from a £260 odd pound HKS product.... I had a bailey DV26 Evo bov running 1 bar for like 3 years with no problems, and that cost me £88 so a bit gutted about a major jap brand failing like this!

I'm sure Vicky will sort me out ;)

Hey Chap,

Yeah I did do and she said I had to send it back to her, for it to be returned to HKS Japan.... WTF... I don't want to waiit until after christmas to get a valve back... I thought the first 12 months warranty for any UK retailer purchase was between the trader / retailer and the customer.

I was surprised to see a £270 valve fail too, it shocked me... the car has a Metal 1.6mm HKS stopper headgasket on it and I'm concerned now that I might have problems with that..... always been an Apexi man myself! ;)

Hi Neil,
Sorry not to respond to this thread earlier. I have only just seen it - not visited this board for a while. It is always best to ring if their is a difficulty (as you did today) as messages on boards are often missed.

Your unit is warranted against manufacturing defect and as said on the telephone if you pop it back in the post it will be sent over to HKS for testing. There also seems to be some misunderstanding - your unit is not being returned to Japan - HKS Europe are in Cambridge.

Best Regards
Vicky
