Curious as to why people don't seem to mention something like this. Most people seem to go for splitfire coils instead.

Any reason?? It seems good at half the price of coils!

Also curious where I could get an ignition amplifier from a spec1 car? Is it an easy thing to retrofit to a spec2 engine?

You should not need an amp for the spec2 as the ecu has the drivers built in.

I think people seem to not want to fit the coil pack as it seem to them its a step backwards.
The only real downsides to it are.
Fitment: It looks a bit **** with that big box.
Wear and tear: It will fire the plugs twice what the coil on plug would do.

It's fine if what you really wanted was a C5 or a Morris Minor..yes it's cheap, so is Netto.
