I am currently in the process of building a track car and was wondering what gauges would i need to fit to keep an eye on things as i am new to this i.e. oil temp gauge etc. :bigthumb:

I already have a boost gauge.

Spot on, although I just use the std oil pressure gauge.
All of the above plus an intake temp gauge, a really big rev counter with a big shift light on it and one of those inclinometers to measure how much the car is rollling going round corners, a "g" meter and an outside air temp and altimeter (to work out air density and the like). Oh and an Apexi RSM to measure 0 to 60 etc.

Actually maybe I've got carried away there, I have no idea really, never had a track car, but I do like gauges !
I do have the Charge temp gauge, very handy.

This did make me chuckle :bigthumb:

Wideband?
If you have Apexi power FC, it will show you.
Boost charge, charge temp and knock also water temp and loads others too. But it wont do exhaust temp and oil pressure and oil temp I think?
Not on a GTST it wont do inlet temp as only GTR's have this function, it also wont show boost unless you have the controller.

But the Power FC hand controller does give some very important info like water temp, and most important Knock, I can give inj duty, air flow etc but there not that important.
I stand corrected, sorry Adrian for giving duff info
Which intake charge temp you use guys?

Yes I was being a bit silly. But seriously, when I had my GTR, I had a Greddy Informeter and it was a great bit of kit for measuring injector duration, intake temp, ign timing, lambda from the factory narrow band etc. I don't think the GtsT has an intake temp sensor as std though.

Of course it's not an ideal thing for track days because the screen is quite small. I think that analogue gauges are much better than digital readouts because you get used to the normal position of the needles and it's much easier to do a quick scan and spot anything out of the ordinary.

I'm sure that you will decide on what you prefer, and good luck with the track days :bigthumb:
over stock, a big fat oil light should do you

if you have time to look at gauges youre just tooooooooooo slow

I run this one, Charge gauge
Now have the AEM Boost Controller, AEM Wideband UEGO Gauge and Digital Oil Temp Gauge.

The standard oil pressure gauge should be fine, yes?
Thats all i use.
as mr convert says... if you have time to look at any guages your not trying hard enough.
