Ok,

I've been busy the last few days updating the website. The new forum software has some nice updates to it, but I've added a few extras for you lot. This is not a finished product by any means, there is still lots to do (SOC integration, website logo etc etc) but time is short and I know you lot must be getting the shakes by now.

Here are some of the things I've added.

FlashChat - This is a cool real-time chat program that was recommended in the site suggestions. I have added it, so lets see how much use it gets. On the forum home page at the bottom, it will show you who is chatting so you can check before you head in!

Event Attendance - When you create an event in the calendar, there is an option to let people "subscribe" to the event. Each use can basically register for the event and the system will track everyone that has registered. This could be useful for track days, meets etc etc. Try it out!

Forum access based on user post count - I have changed the For Sales section so that only users with 50+ posts can create a for sale thread. Will hopefully get rid of some of that spam. This can be set up for other areas to so let me have your thoughts on how we can use this more.

Garage - Each user has the ability to upload 4 images of their car and create a profile. These can be viewed by everyone by clicknig on the Garage link. You can update your car profile from your UserCP.

So what have we lost?

The timeslip database has gone, and has not been made available for this latest version of forum software. To be honest, it was full of crap information anyway, but it still would have been nice to have it with some restrictions.

I'm debating on whether to keep the gallery or not now that the Garage is there? I will keep it for the time being although the link is not there yet.

Skyline Owners Club

Due to the nature of the visual changes I have made to the site, I have decided to give the SOC a dedicated section. I will be working with the club to get this up and running soon. In the mean time, please contact Buster, Gordon or Big Mark for details on joining the Club.

I Hope you continue to enjoy the forum.

Kind regards,
Lenny

Still a problem with the number of database connection they have limited us too. Will have to bare with it for a bit I'm afraid.

The links overlapping is due to the banner being flash based. The normal gif banners don't cause the same problem. Will see if there is a fix.

Well done Lenny. I thought you were called Martin, but Lenny suits you too :D

Nice appearance and some great new features with the chat and the subscription to events (plus the for sales section idea).

Thanks from all of us grateful users for your hard work!

And thanks, as always, to the tireless souls who moderate the crap we all post
