not sure if any of you will be interested but i have spent the last eight months building myself a new boat.
its a Yellowtail 14 ft Australian design by David Payne up dated from the 1930s

heres a few pics

this is how she started


laminating the bow


planking


all planked ready for lots of sanding (and i mean lots)



after the sanding comes three coats of epoxy and primer



now the fit out







final painting

OMG it floats:rolleyes:




now all i need to do is go catch lots of fish, and start doing a bit of work on my Skyline (which has been neglected for the last 8 months)

very nice mate but you fail at most of the pics unless a red x is what we want :rofl:

But unfortunately its true - the first 7 photographs have shown as a red X on my browser

err once i have figured how to load the car on board her :rolleyes:

well i will have more time and money on my hands so who knows :bigthumb:

fantastic hkp,always wanted a boat for fishing,had an outboard evinrude for 3 years,but cheap boat never turned up.lol.just need to keep playing the lotto now

Great work mate. Could i ask why you went with the australian idea?
the reason i went for the Australian design is because i joined and aussy boat building forum as it was the only one that seemed to have regular posts, i asked for any ideas for a boat of around 14ft some one posted up a pic of a Yellowtail and it was love at first sight, ordered the plans and well the rest is posted here for all to see :cool:
