might be a private plate when it was imported, mine is, and its on a H plate and its a 93 r33.....

 

my mate has an 02 plate 300zx mate, done a 3week pnc course and as part of it we were told that at any one time, that the dvla DB has upto a 65% inacurracy rating. So this type of thing isnt surprising at all

 

you can put a older plate on any car, you just cant put a newer plate on it g m reg plate on a e reg car but you can do it visa versa
